INTOLERANTIE VOOR ONZEKERHEID
Inleiding
In 1994 publiceerden Freeston en medewerkers een meetinstrument voor het begrip “Intolerance of Uncertainty”. Zij beschrijven het begrip als: “emotional, cognitive and behavioural reactions to ambiguous situations, implications of being uncertain, and attempts to control the future”. Factoranalyse resulteerde in vijf factoren:
- uncertainty is unacceptable and should be avoided
- being uncertain reflects badly on a person
- frustration is related to uncertainty
- uncertainty causes stress
- uncertainty prevents action
